Chase Field, Phoenix, Arizona
The Washington Nationals have responded well to manager Jim Riggleman's closed-door meeting, winning two straight games for the first time in more than two weeks.
Its been much longer since Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zach Duke has won consecutive starts.
Duke continues his comeback from injury Thursday night when NL West-leading Arizona opens a four-game home series against Washington.
After missing most of the season's first two months with a broken hand suffered in spring training, Duke (1-0, 0.00 ERA) made a solid first impression in his Diamondbacks debut Saturday. The former Pittsburgh Pirates left-hander allowed three hits and one walk in seven scoreless innings of an 11-3 victory over Houston.
Duke, who also hit the first home run of his seven-year career, hasn't won consecutive starts since July 21 and 27 for Pittsburgh.
