Texas Rangers vs New York Yankees

Yankee Stadium, New York, NY
The New York Yankees' offense seems to be handling Derek Jeter's trip to the disabled list quite well. The only bad news is that Thursday afternoon is the last look they'll get at the Texas Rangers' pitching staff.
The Yankees have scored 12 runs in each of two routs in the Bronx -- just like they did in Arlington last month -- and can hit double digits for a fourth straight game against one team for the first time in 62 years.
All eyes were on Jeter's quest for his 3,000th hit, and New York's captain was only six away from becoming the first player to reach that milestone in a Yankee uniform when he strained his right calf Monday in Cleveland.
He was placed on the 15-day DL for the first time since 2003 on Tuesday, but New York (38-28) didn't miss him as it clubbed three homers in a 12-4 rout of Texas later that night.
Eduardo Nunez, Jeter's fill-in, had two hits Tuesday and two more Wednesday, including one of the Yankees' five homers. Mark Teixeira went deep twice -- once from each side of the plate -- as New York rolled to another 12-4 win, handing Texas (36-33) a season-high fourth straight loss while scoring 12 runs for the third straight time in the series.
