The Pittsburgh Pirates have won six of their last seven series against the Chicago Cubs, including the first one to open this season.
They'll turn to opening day starter Kevin Correia once again against the Cubs when these NL Central rivals with identical records open a three-game set Friday at Wrigley Field.
The weather in Chicago hasn't improved much since Pittsburgh took two of three April 1/3 to start the season. Nearly two months later, these teams are still deadlocked in the standings with 22-26 records.
Pittsburgh has won 14 of its last 21 against Chicago with the teams alternating wins and losses in their last 10 meetings at Wrigley.
The Pirates are searching for some offense at the start of a seven-game trip. They have totaled two runs in a three-game slide, falling 4-2 in 11 innings to Atlanta on Wednesday.
