Coming off a dismal homestand, the Rockies look to avoid a fourth consecutive road loss as they open a three-game set with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night.
One day after it snapped a four-game skid with a 15-4 win over St. Louis, Colorado (25-27) fell 4-3 to conclude a 2-5 homestand. Losers in eight of 10 overall, the Rockies embark on a nine-game road stretch against NL West opponents.
They have dropped nine of 11 away from Coors Field after opening 10-3 on the road and went 4-5 at Dodger Stadium last year.
"We think this team is good, regardless of the early struggles," shortstop Troy Tulowitzki told the Rockies' official website.
Though the Rockies averaged 2.7 runs while losing eight of their last nine road games, they hope to continue their success against Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley (3-4, 3.69 ERA), who has a 5.94 ERA during a three-game losing streak versus Colorado.
